At the end of October and beginning of November, the world fills with colors and legends. But do you know the difference between the Celtic and Pre-Hispanic traditions?

Day of the Dead (Mexico)

It is a celebration of life. It is believed that loved ones return from the afterlife to coexist with the living.

  • Dates: November 1st and 2nd.
  • Symbol: La Catrina and the altars (ofrendas).
  • Mood: Colorful, music, and joy.

Halloween (USA/Ireland)

Originates from the Celtic festival of Samhain. It was a night to protect oneself from spirits.

  • Date: October 31st.
  • Symbol: The carved pumpkin (Jack-o'-lantern).
  • Mood: Mystery, costumes, and candy.
